PlanetHike Security & Safety Information

Safety & Wellbeing Policy

At Regreenity, the safety, wellbeing, and positive experience of our participants, volunteers, and partners are our highest priority. Whether you’re joining a PlanetHike, volunteering, or contributing to our sustainability initiatives, we are committed to creating a secure and respectful environment for everyone involved.
Please read and follow the guidelines below to help ensure a smooth and safe experience for all.

1. After the Event
Check In: If attending with a group, make sure everyone finishes the route safely.
Share Feedback: Help us improve future events by emailing feedback or safety suggestions to info@regreenity.com.
Thank you for doing your part to create a safe, respectful, and meaningful experience.
Together, we walk toward a greener, healthier, and more connected planet.

2. General Safety Guidelines
Stay Informed: Review event details, schedules, and route maps prior to participating. Check for updates via email, social media, or our website.
Follow Instructions: Always adhere to the guidance provided by your City Ambassador, Route Host, or volunteers.
Be Aware: Stay alert to your surroundings and watch for uneven surfaces, road crossings, or weather-related hazards.
Identification: Carry a form of ID with emergency contact and medical info.
First Aid: Bring a personal first aid kit. In case of injury or illness, alert a volunteer immediately for support or emergency response.

3. Route & Event Safety
Know Your Route: Familiarize yourself with the 10km path, rest points, terrain, and elevation before the hike.
Hike in Pairs or Groups: For safety and connection, walk with others when possible. Solo hikers should inform the local team before starting.
Traffic Awareness: Obey all pedestrian laws at intersections. Stay on sidewalks or marked paths where available.
Stay Hydrated & Fueled: Carry enough water and light snacks. Rest when needed to avoid fatigue.
Emergency Protocol: Follow the lead of the City Ambassador or designated safety personnel in case of emergency.

4. Environmental Responsibility
Leave No Trace: Take all waste with you or dispose of it in designated bins. Protect nature—do not disturb wildlife or plants.
Use Reusables: Bring reusable bottles, bags, and utensils to reduce waste. Avoid single-use plastics.
Support Local Impact: Engage with the event’s environmental actions, such as tree planting, water conservation, or clean-up efforts.

5. Personal Belongings & Security
Travel Light: Keep valuables at home. Bring only essentials in a secure, close-fitting bag or pack.
Lost & Found: Report any lost or found items to a Regreenity volunteer.
Report Concerns: Immediately report any suspicious behavior or safety issues to staff or security personnel.

6. Respectful Behavior & Inclusion
Respect All Participants: Regreenity is a safe and inclusive space. Discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior will result in immediate removal from the event.
Positive Vibes Only: Encourage others, offer support, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
Family-Friendly: Many events include children. Be mindful of your language and actions.

7. Volunteer & Staff Assistance
Event Support Team: Look for volunteers in Regreenity t-shirts—they’re there to assist and guide.
Safety Briefing: Each PlanetHike includes a short safety talk before the walk begins.
